Financial aid meant he could pursue his passions

Donor support through The Stanford Fund made it possible for Sam Duke, ’20, a first-generation, low-income student, to complete his Stanford journey, study what he is passionate about—and graduate debt free.

“I’m a first-generation, low-income student, and when I think back on my Stanford experience, I feel incredibly grateful. Because of the financial aid I received, I was able to attend Stanford for four years, to graduate debt-free, and to do something that I really loved. The Class of 2020 has been through a whole lot in the last year. But I think that’s what makes us special—the fact that we’ve endured this together.”
