With a newly endowed head coach position, the women’s gymnastics program will be able to retain and recruit top coaching talent far into the future.

The coachship was created by a gift from Stanford alumni Courtney Rodgers, ’96, MS ’98, and Kit Rodgers, ’96, MS ’98. Tabitha Yim, ’08, will be the inaugural Rodgers Family Director of Women’s Gymnastics.

“I am thrilled to see such a show of support for the women’s gymnastics program and very grateful to Courtney and Kit for this gift,” said Bernard Muir, the Jaquish & Kenninger Director of Athletics. “The fact that their experiences as former student-athletes inspired them to endow a coachship shows just how important our coaches are in shaping the lives of the young people they mentor, both on and beyond The Farm.”

“Kit and I are excited to support Stanford women’s gymnastics,” said Courtney Rodgers. “As former student-athletes ourselves, we know first-hand the immense influence that coaches have on the program’s culture and its success. We are delighted to help ensure that future Cardinal student-athletes receive inspired mentorship and guidance from coaches who are working to bring out the best in their athletes.”

Stanford women’s gymnastics is a program with a storied history of success, boasting 34 All-Americans, 49 individual Pac-12 championships, eight conference team championships and 16 NCAA postseason semifinals and/or finals appearances. In the classroom, the program has produced a perfect GSR score for 17 consecutive seasons, holds 161 Scholastic All-American honors and consistently leads the conference in All-Academic and Academic Honor Roll selections.

“Stanford stands on its own,” said Rodgers Family Director of Women’s Gymnastics Tabitha Yim. “When I look back at my time on The Farm, I can truly say it was the best scholar-athlete experience in the country. With every interaction, class, or activity, Stanford creates a network that supports champions in life. We are so grateful to Courtney and Kit for their support in continuing our quality scholar-athlete experience for our team and program.”
