Your 2022 Reunion Campaign Report

You did it! You and your fellow alumni came together in 2022 and made great things happen.

We are excited and proud to share that the outcome of your 2022 class reunion campaigns fueled more than $170 million in gifts and pledges. What isn’t captured in the dollar amount is the true impact of your gifts. Your investments will pay dividends in the lives of students, in groundbreaking research and solutions, and in the people and programs working to address the world’s most pressing challenges.

Your incredible generosity represents early commitments to the Stanford Vision and your dedication to the Stanford community on campus and beyond.  2022 reunion classes supported IDEAL, the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, undergraduate education, endowed scholarships, Stanford Impact Labs, Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI), Athletics, Freeman Spogli Institute (FSI) and, of course, The Stanford Fund.

We want to extend our deepest appreciation for your help in making your class campaigns a success. To all the committee members, volunteers, and alumni who gave from the heart—thank you.

Class highlights

Class of 1952 broke the record for most dollars raised for The Stanford Fund by a 70th reunion campaign.

Class of 1972 had a significant number of classmates step up to new levels via distributions from their IRAs (a special perk of being 70+), while others have added to their existing endowed gifts to continue their commitment to providing financial aid.

Class of 1982 broke the record for the most dollars raised for The Stanford Fund by a 40th reunion campaign. To encourage participation and gifts of all sizes, the five participation co-chairs collectively pledged to match all gifts in the second half of the year with $250 to The Stanford Fund.

Class of 2002 surpassed both of their dollar goals, largely due to additional classmate outreach done by the campaign chairs and volunteers leading up to Stanford’s fiscal year end.

Class of 2012 raised more than $900,000 for The Stanford Fund, a threshold that hasn't been surpassed by a 10th reunion campaign since the Class of 1998 did so in 2008.

These figures include gifts and pledges made between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022, as well as some extraordinary gifts given in support of reunion outside the calendar year. We also acknowledge those classmates who are members of the Founding Grant Society through bequests, charitable remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities, and other forms of deferred and estate gifts.

“The magic that I felt 30 years ago—the friendships, incredible academic opportunities, and unparalleled beauty of the campus—was grounded in the generosity of alumni who came before me. I am so gratified to be able to say, ‘It’s my turn.’”
