Support Undergrads with The Stanford Fund

Giving through The Stanford Fund is a meaningful way to make a difference in the lives of Stanford students. The support you provide impacts every undergrad on campus year after year. That’s more than 7,700 students benefiting from your generosity.

You provide life-changing financial aid

With the support of Stanford Fund donors, the university is able to offer generous and comprehensive financial aid to every student who qualifies. U.S. students are accepted “need blind,” meaning without consideration for their ability to pay tuition. Once accepted, Stanford meets their demonstrated financial need through scholarships—not loans. This makes a world-class education accessible to capable and talented students from all backgrounds.

You sustain outstanding academics

Annual gifts through The Stanford Fund are more flexible than endowed funds. They can be deployed where needed to help keep curricula fresh and innovative and ensure Stanford remains at the forefront of undergraduate education. Funding has supported small-group seminars, where students work closely with faculty, research opportunities, and other fulfilling educational opportunities. All schools that grant undergraduate degrees—Humanities and Sciences; Engineering; and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability—benefit from gifts through The Stanford Fund.

You support students outside the classroom

The Stanford Fund is a key source of support for more than 150 student-run organizations that enrich the undergraduate experience. These groups allow students to express their creativity, build lifelong friendships, and develop leadership skills. Gifts through The Stanford Fund also helped to launch community resources for student veterans and first-generation and low-income students. In addition, Stanford Fund dollars support advising and mental health resources to help students thrive personally and academically.

What your support means to students

Even after two years on the Farm, I’m still finding amazing new opportunities to broaden my academic horizons and find what I’m truly passionate about. I’m so blessed to have the life I’m leading today, and it wouldn’t be possible without the help of alumni donors. I can’t wait to give back to my family who have supported me throughout my education with their love and belief in my abilities. I’m also eager to show my gratitude for the financial aid I’ve received by becoming a donor myself. I can think of no better way to make the dreams of future Stanford students come true, as alumni have done for me.

Stanford provides financial aid for every U.S. undergraduate student who qualifies. Last year, nearly 50 percent of students received need-based aid, and 31 percent of undergrads paid zero tuition. You make Stanford’s financial aid program among the best in higher education.
